Many herbs and flowers can be used to make skincare products such as salves, bath teas, lotions and soaps. Learn the basics of growing herbs and flowers including how to select a location, planting information, harvesting and drying. We will highlight the growing conditions and healing properties of calendula, chamomile, lemon balm and lavender as well as other lesser known herbs and flowers. Learn how to make a calendula salve and take home seeds and recipes to create additional products with your garden.

Growing tomatoes can be rewarding and tasty but it can also be a challenge here in the low desert. Learn how to grow great tomatoes including timing, recommended varieties, fertilizer, companion plants, to prune or not to prune, as well as other tips for a great harvest.  Instructed by Melissa Kruse-Peeples.
